Burnt lake to Ramona loop
Did a really good run over the weekend from Ramona falls up to Burnt lake and over Timberline and Paradise park, then back down to Ramona falls. It was a cold and rainy day but felt great.
If you start at the Ramona falls TH, you can backtrack on the road up the hill to the Burnt lake trail. From there, go up and around Burnt lake to the Zigzag trail and up the back of Zigzag mountain. Turn left at your first connector to head over to Paradise park and then back down to Ramona (after the Rushing Water and Sandy river gorges). This is close to 20 miles so a long hiking day or a long run. It would be quite snowy in the winter so keep that in mind. Just because you can get to the Ramona TH, doesn't mean you will make the loop. Be prepared to turn back if you encounter deep snow and you aren't prepared.
